MUCH VS VERY

Much means 'large amount of something'.It precedes comparative degree of adjective' (much stronger, much older, much more beautiful etc) and past participle( much surprised, much interested)
On the other hand precedes the positive degree of an adjective(very good, very old etc) and present participle(very disgusting, very confusing etc)
Some examples:-
She is much better now.
He is much interested in music.
The child is much tired now.
On the other hand we can write
The flower is very beautiful.
The story is very interesting.
